My Background
I received my Bachelor Degree in music from Utah Valley University with an emphasis in cello. Since 2009, I have performed as a lead singer and cellist in the pop/country trio Firefly. As a cello teacher, I combine my experience from both the pop and classical worlds to give students a unique balance of styles. My top priority is helping my students find joy in musical learning and expression.
My Experience
I sing and play in the country trio Firefly with two of my sisters. We have been blessed to perform alongside and open for many major artists such as Martina McBride and LeAnn Rhymes.
At Utah Valley University, I studied classical music under the direction of Cheung Chao and Monika Bowman and performed in the Utah Valley Symphony and various small ensembles including Park City's Beethoven Festival. These opportunities have given me unique knowledge in performing, songwriting, recording, arranging, and improvisation, all of which I hope to share with my students.
